Michael Campbell McCord was an American mathematician probably best known for his work on finite topological spaces and on the nerve theorem.

On homotopy groups and weak homotopy equivalences of finite topological spaces:

On the nerve theorem:

On the construction of classifying spaces using (and introducing) compactly generated weakly Hausdorff topological spaces:

  • Michael C. McCord, Classifying Spaces and Infinite Symmetric Products, Transactions of the American Mathematical Society, Vol. 146 (Dec., 1969), pp. 273-298 (jstor:1995173, pdf)
