Definition

Given a commutative ring $R$, a left $R$-algebra is a left $R$-module with a bilinear function $(-)\cdot(-): A \times A \to A$, and a right $R$-algebra is a right $R$-module with a bilinear function $(-)\cdot(-): A \times A \to A$.
